About this deal

coming from a normal bivi bag it’s a gamechanger, the extra space for you head and ability to sleep sideways and not get all twisted up in a cocoon certainly helps with a better night’s sleep. I am also not clear on the legal restrictions to fastening a hammock to local trees in each of the nine-plus jurisdictions I will be travelling through, how strictly this is enforced, and what the penalties are. Combined with a 50 quid decathlon ultralight air mat and a cheap no name pertex / primaloft summer bag (i dont do cheap down) it makes a very versatile system for anything from bikepacking to sleeping in mates gardens to the odd trespass in a private wood!

When there's a breeze, you can set it up so there's plenty of venting, or leave the porch side wide open. It has a lot of stray dogs, which I anticipate having to fend off not infrequently with pepper spray in the middle of the night if I am sleeping in the Oex Bush Pro.The only issue I found was maybe a front guyline to keep the shelter more taught would be an asset, especially on a low structure,I placed an elastic cord on the door keeper and that was ok ,but a reinforcement at that point would be great . Used in -5deg with windchill on top and blocked that completely, where my normal basha wouldn't have. Easy to put up, lots of room inside (I’m 5’9″ and a side sleeper), the poles are short enough that they’ll pack into my frame bag, meaning the bivi itself can pack smaller, or I can roll my matt into it and it’ll still fit in it’s bag. Currently averaging two bivis a week and, once you stop thinking of bivi bags as a lightweight alternative to a tent, but rather as being something different, allowing you to utilise often poor ground in a more discrete way than a tent, then hooped bivis start making sense. I tried it out in his hall way and after 5 minutes I felt uncomfortable, slightly claustrophobic and had to get out.

Google Earth is the best tool for planning IMO, you can draw on routes to export to a mapping app on your phone (I use OSMand with downloaded contours for hiking and MAPS. Borrowing more than you can afford or paying late may negatively impact your financial status and ability to obtain credit. The only thing i’d wish it did was to be able to open up the front completely so that you could lie on your front and look out. It features a 5000mm hydrostatic head flysheet and a 7000mm hydrostatic head groundsheet, providing excellent protection from rain and damp ground. If they do get aggressive, the best thing is to stand your ground, pick up a stone and raise your arm as if to throw it.OEX Enduro Pole - single collapsible aluminum poleLightweight aluminum pegs Fire retardant - Complies with BS EN ISO 6941:2003Pitched dimensions: 225 x 77. It’s a piece of gear I’d recommend to any solo camper looking for a compact and easy-to-pitch shelter.
