About this deal

Jason includes subtitles in English SDH and Spanish, while Friday the 13th (2009) includes subtitles in English SDH, Spanish, and French.

This might be an unpopular opinion (in horror fandom), but I prefer the theatrical cut of the original Friday the 13th, over the unrated cut. per disc and seemingly identical to how they were released in 2013 in Warner Brothers' eight-film metal tin.Nothing has been done to substantially alter them like Jason Lives, but both feature excellent color reproduction and deep blacks with good contrast. PART 3 (When viewing in 3D) – First instance of 3D opening credits does not come out of the screen correctly. All of the discs are housed in a blood-red 6-disc case, each disc gets its own tray without being stacked.

The first four movies have their own individual discs with the last four movies spread across two discs.Granted, the writing remains on par with the previous two, but characterization takes a nosedive while the heroine comes with a needlessly unbelievable backstory. The previous Paramount Blu-ray had a warmer, greener look to it, which often clashed with skin tones, white surfaces, and even instances of fire. Paramount has released an eight-film 'Friday the 13th' collection to Blu-ray in collectible SteelBook packaging. The reason is, like you mentioned, the gore scenes run too long in the unrated cut, and it's much more obvious you are seeing Tom Savini's special effects (which are great, of course). This is where we begin to oddly cheer for the killer while the timid, self-deprecating Shelly adds a redeeming charm.

with alternate or secondary artwork on the inside) and just enough room for the glossy color booklet. It’s worth noting up front that the first two Friday films, plus four through ten, were originally shot for a 1. The first four films use the new video transfers and audio mixes, but V through VIII are on the same two discs that date all the way back to the 2013 set. In the woods nearby, a young man is camping and on the lookout for Jason in an effort to avenge his sister’s death.Unfortunately, Part 3 and The Final Chapter continue to come off a bit screechy and bright in the higher frequencies and during the loudest segments. Clarity and distinction is notably improved as well, providing some of the louder, more intense sequences excellent definition, especially in Harry Manfredini's iconic score. I didn't like that approach, though it made for better group screenings, by lessening the uncomfortability quotient. The best and most striking aspect of all four has to be the bolder, more energetic, especially animated reds of the clothes and the livelier greens of the grass and leaves.
